The use of indiscreet toe kick LED lighting in this master bath provides both function and increased safety. The addition of an occupancy sensor to turn these on assures a safe and warm ambient atmosphere in the space, especially at night.

Wall sconces plus a beautiful and open chandelier lend a warmth to the room and provide great general lighting for the master bedroom. And mixing fixture finishes can help to tie a room's furnishings together. I recommend a dimmer to adjust the light level as needed and desired.

This open kitchen design uses recess lights for general lighting, smaller recess over the island sink area, and pendants over the island eating area. The metals of the pendants blend with the kitchen finishes. The chandelier and sconces in the breakfast nook compliment the other finishes in the space. Ample task lighting for all work surfaces.

Strategically placed recess assure your treasures are highlighted while accenting the custom bookcases. Planning for portable lamps can help to make sure those wires are hidden as much as possible with floor outlets.

Curves

Why not accent that curvy island with a matching curve above you? These fixtures can be moved along this rail and additional lights can be added. The monorail track is easily bent and shaped in the field and comes in light and dark metal finishes.

A beautiful ceiling deserves to be beautifully lit. Mixing cove lighting with suspended linear cable lighting brings drama to the space but can also be switched separately to change the mood of the family room. A dimmer adds to the room's atmosphere and function.

the right light in the right place

These lights that highlight the signage with hot spots do not help the business to get noticed. Note that this before drawing do not provide even illumination of the Mincer's sign. What's a tenant to do to increase exposure?

See the difference?

To save the tenant costs the existing wiring was used, and the fixtures were changed to a double head style that illuminates the Mincer's sign more evenly and brightly.

simple and clean

Recess designed for a slope ceiling provide the appropriate general lighting. Puck lights over the sink/prep area along with under cabinet LED provide task lighting and the pendants softly illuminate the island. This is how layers of lighting work harmoniously together in this kitchen.

When choosing a pendant or chandelier in a room, consider all the angles the fixture can be seen from as well as making sure the size fits within the space and the design palette. The adjustable recess light provides just the right amount of light to call your attention to the beautiful facade of the fireplace. Sconces over the windows help to supplement the light level in the sitting area.

Impact a Small Space

Powder rooms can benefit from an out of the norm solution for lighting. In this case, the homeowner wanted to use a unique framed mirror that fit the space exactly. So instead of using a light placed over the mirror, a stylish pendant hanging in the center of the mirror created the right balance of light and visual interest. And of course, the light is on a dimmer.

a little drama

Mixing a contemporary chandelier with traditional furniture can add just a touch of drama to your room

Open Dining Space

Since the light is floating above the table, take into consideration the size and design of the light to flow with the other furnishings.

Shadows

Shadows can add interest and drama to an open space.

With a tall vaulted ceiling, this light provides some unique patterns which create both visual interest and it pulls the warm wood tones from the floor up to the ceiling.

Kitchen Layers

Here’s a kitchen with beautiful wood tones and lots of natural light. The lighting provides the ‘layers’ of light desired in the work space. The large ceiling light provides the overall general lighting for the kitchen and the undercabinet lighting assures the counters are beautifully lit.
